About

…Truly being here is glorious…
For each of you had an hour, or perhaps
not even an hour, a barely measurable time
between two moments–, when you were granted a sense
of being. Everything. Your veins flowed with being.
But we can so easily forget what our laughing neighbor
neither confirms nor envies. We want to display it,
to make it visible, though even the most visible happiness
can’t reveal itself to us until we transform it, within.
Nowhere, Beloved, will world be but within us. Our life
passes in transformation. And the external
shrinks into less and less.
-Rainer Maria Rilke, The Seventh Duino Elegy
Yes, I quote Rilke often. His words are ones I cannot seem to get beyond, finding them dangling from tree limbs or stained into mostly blank walls, unbosoming, becoming visceral convictions. It is my hope that Between Two Whiles will foster community amongst those searching for, or reveling in ‘Truly being here.’ An outward expression of ‘transforming within,’ if you will.
This project is newly created and continually undergoing improvement. Please share your thoughts and comments!
My aim, as of now, is to nod to experiences, questions, and general delights concerning moments–that all too often forego their due–through visual and verbal images. Another site is in the works, which will host a portfolio of my photographs as well as a store for the purchasing of prints…Stay tuned!
Eyes-Peeled,
Jessi

Oh my goodness! Steve Modde. How are you? It certainly has been a while since “The Last Train in a Photo Finish.” Was that the correct title?

All is good here in St. Louis! Here’s my email (stevejmodde@yahoo.com). As for the title, I am not certain, but I believe you are correct!
